Health Pages the Web Links to Most

The health pages the web links to most, ranked by the number of backlinks they received from 15 of the web’s biggest referring domains. The data is partial — read the notice below before quoting any figure.

Partial data — read this first. This list comes from a Semrush backlink read (Wave 22, November 2026) that covered 15 of the 20 biggest referring domains in full, plus nytimes.com in part. Four domains — samsung.com, theguardian.com, wikipedia.org and www.gov.uk — were not counted at all. The nytimes.com × kff.org figures are provisional (9 of 39 pages read) and are not included in the KFF list below. Treat these as the most-linked pages in the data we have, not as a definitive ranking of the whole web.

Most-linked health pages — global health data, illustration

Each table lists the ten most-linked pages on one publisher’s site, with the number of backlinks counted and the referring domain that linked to it most. The number in brackets after a domain — for example, “bbc.co.uk (404)” — is how many of that page’s links came from that domain. It is a count, not an error code. For dated, sourced population figures, see the WHO Global Data Explorer tool.

kff.org — 15 referring domains counted (nytimes.com excluded — its kff.org figures are provisional).

Some KFF links now redirect to the publisher’s current edition of the same page.

Some of the most-linked pages could not be listed, because the address Semrush recorded no longer loads. They are named here with their counts, not hidden.

  • WHO coronavirus Q&A page — 24 links
  • WHO COVID-19 advice for the public — 22 links
  • WHO code of ethics pamphlet (PDF) — 22 links

  • CDC NHANES index — 91 links

  • Commonwealth Fund international health profiles (Mossialos, 2015) (PDF) — 2 links

KFF

Seven KFF pages could not be listed, because the recorded address no longer loads:

  • KFF State Health Facts database — 8 links
  • KFF file entmedia030905pkg.cfm — 3 links

How this was counted

Counts are backlinks summed across the completed referring domains: 16 domains for who.int, cdc.gov and commonwealthfund.org (including nytimes.com, whose who.int, cdc.gov and commonwealthfund.org figures are complete), and 15 domains for kff.org (nytimes.com excluded — its kff.org figures are provisional, 9 of 39 pages read).

A count is the number of backlinks from those domains to that exact address. Addresses are counted exactly as Semrush showed them, so the same page reached by two different addresses counts as two entries.

Only pages whose full address was recorded and which load are ranked. Where Semrush recorded only a shortened address, the link is the page’s address on the publisher’s site: WHO fact-sheet addresses were completed to the publisher’s standard form, and Commonwealth Fund publication addresses were found by title and checked to load. Every link on this page was checked to load in November 2026. Some links now redirect to the publisher’s current edition of the same page.
